All Fashionistas Go to Heaven (aka Nordstom’s Anniversary Sale)

It’s almost here!!  The day I’ve been looking forward to since last year.  Ok, well maybe not since last year, but I HAVE been looking forward to it for awhile now.  What am I talking about? The fabulous Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale.

Mark your calendars: It all starts Friday, July 20!!

*If you have a Nordstrom Credit or Debit card account, you can start shopping the deals today!*

Prepare to get some awesome clothes/jewelry/shoes/handbags for fall 2012 for nearly 50% off.  I’m not talking about last season’s designs either.  My favorite things to get at the yearly sale are shoes, coats and jewelry.  Basically, this is the sale to get all of your expensive staples.  Because let’s be honest here–you’re going to need a coat and shoes for fall–it’s not like you can just go barefoot, right?  As if you needed an excuse to shop…

Check out this list of tips so you can get the most out of this year’s big sale:

Prepare.  The Nordstrom Anniversary Preview catalog is available online (click here to see it for yourself).  It’s 92 pages of pure excitement (at least it is for me anyways), and it can help you plan exactly which sections of the store to hit first.  Planning ahead can save you the hassle of fighting through the crowds.  Trust me, the stores can get quite busy and I know I don’t feel like fighting the woman next to me to get to the Michael Kors bags.  Know what you’re going for, pick it up, and then high-tail it out of there.

Shop Early.  They will sell out of popular items!  Items like handbags and jewelry are notorious for this.  They may not sell out forever, but by the time replenishments come in, the sale might already be over.  And speaking of missing the sale…

Don’t Over Think It.  If you want it, buy it.  Chances are the prices aren’t going to get any better than these.  Ever.  Take it from someone who knows.  Last year, I went back and forth over a pair of Vince Camuto booties.  Should I buy them?  Should I not? By the time I made up my mind (which was to buy them, naturally) the sale was already over and I had to pay nearly $70 more.  Nordstrom doesn’t play around.  They tell you the prices will go back up after the sale (August 6), and they mean it.

Don’t Hesitate to Buy Online.  Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns.  If you don’t like it, send it back without any penalties!  And let’s be honest here, who doesn’t like getting packages in the mail?!

Even if you’re not as excited about this sale as I am, you have to admit: this is a great time to buy some of the more expensive items that you’ve been lusting over.  Whether you’re just getting a few bras, or you’re going all out–check out this sale.

You have about 3 weeks to take advantage of the great prices.  Ready? Set. Go!
