You Go, Heidi Klum!

Recently, I read this article about Heidi Klum doing a photo shoot makeup-free. What?! A celeb showing off her natural skin? Klum didn’t do it because it was going to end up on the cover of a magazine; however, she did it to raise awareness for an admirable charity.

BBC Children in Need is a corporate charity in the UK. According to their website, their goal is to help every child in the UK have a childhood that is safe, happy and secure, and allows them the chance to reach their full potential. The charity itself provides funding for projects that help children and young people who are disadvantaged.  So how can you get involved?

BBC Children in Need is sponsoring a BearFaced campaign this Friday, November 9. The BearFaced campaign asks women across the UK to get sponsored to go sans-make up for the day and raise money for their charity.

When I was reading the article, I was thinking about how much makeup twenty-somethings wear. A lot of women believe that makeup improves their appearance. I, for one, am guilty of this, because I willingly spend endless amounts of money and time on makeup that I think makes me look prettier.

Klum says, “I am a firm believer of encouraging women’s empowerment. And what better way to do so than supporting such a fantastic charity?”

So why let the UK be the only ones jumping on the band wagon to help those in need? We should all be embracing our natural beauty! Love the skin you’re in, right?

Does Klum inspire you to go makeup free? Will you join the BearFaced campaign? Try it out for a day! 🙂
