One of my co-worker’s children did something wonderful. She had beautiful, long chestnut brown hair that she just cut to right below her ears. And she didn’t do it to beat the summer heat, either. She did it to donate to Wigs for Kids.
Wigs for Kids is a non-profit organization that helps children suffering from hair loss. Whether their hair loss is from radiation treatments or from medical conditions such as alopecia, WFK will give wigs to children FREE OF COST as long as they:
- Are 18-years old or younger
- Are experiencing hair loss as a result of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical reasons
- Referred by a medial professional
- Come from a family who would otherwise be unable to afford a wig
Interested in donating your hair to one of these organizations? Below are the donation requirements for each non-profit, and the links to see a full list of requirements. Some of the donation restrictions vary so it’s important to do your research before deciding which organization is best for your donation.
