Eat This, Not That: The Ultimate Snack Scorecard

Thanks to Twitter, I’ve become quite the fan of Women’s Health Magazine. In particular, the magazine’s “no-diet weight loss solution,” called Eat This, Not That (@eatthisnotthat). Their tweets lead you to the Women’s Health page and share some interesting food swaps that are pretty reasonable and can ultimately help you lose weight.

This morning, I stumbled upon Eat This, Not That’s Ultimate Snack Scorecard. So please, do yourself a favor and avoid these snacks today (that all received an “F”):

  • Fruit Roll-ups
  • Jell-O Cups
  • Doritos
  • Fig Newtons
  • Nilla Wafers
  • Cheetos
  • Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies

Now you’re probably thinking, duh… Those are obviously all bad for you. But, I bet you’ll be surprised to see what you could swap out for a (still tasty but) better graded snack:

  • Oreos (D)
  • Milk Chocolate M&M’s (D)
  • Cheez-Its (D)
  • Smartfood Popcorn (C)
  • Chocolate Pudding (B)
  • Baked Tostitos Scoops (B)

So if you insist on feeding the crave from your sweet (or salty) tooth, grab a pudding or some popcorn. If by chance you’re looking for a healthy snack, check out the A’s:

  • Beef Jerky Original
  • Cottage Cheese and Strawberries
  • Plain Greek Yogurt
  • String Cheese
  • Triscuits and deli turkey
  • Planters Mixed Nuts
  • Triscuits and Hummus
  • Cheerios
