Boyfriend Jeans. Boyfriend Tees. Boyfriend Flats. Is there anything twenty-something girls love more than comfy (read: boyfriend) AND fashionable clothes? During my lazy-weekend days I love to throw on a pair of my favorite boyfriend jeans (like the ones Gap sells here).
The hottest new “boyfriend” item this season are boyfriend flats. They’re similar to ballet flats but have a more masculine feel to them. While I lovingly refer to them as “boyfriend flats” that’s really not what they’re called. Penny loafers, oxfords and smoking slippers are some of their more sophisticated names. Regardless of what they’re called they basically mean the same thing: flats inspired by menswear. Which means they’re going to be comfortable and perfect for days when you don’t feel like stumbling walking around in those stilettos…but still want to look fashionable.

Even if you’re not a fan of these styles you have do admit: this season, flats are so in. Some fashionistas are even going so far as to call them the new ballet flat. One tip though, don’t get these menswear-inspired styles confused with moccasins. For the record, those are still on the do-not-wear list…along with any and all Uggs.

Love that I almost bought a pair that looked just like the Vince Camuto’s at Target today but in gold… and $29 I think. Looks like I will NEED those asap!
