Even thought Cinco de Mayo was only a few short months ago, it’s time to break out that Patrón again! Yes, it’s that time again: National Tequila Day! I’m not the biggest fan of tequila (especially when it comes to taking shots), but I do love me some margaritas! If you haven’t heard of this glorious day before, here are a few yummy tequila-based drinks to celebrate. The directions are easy — simply mix and serve. Delicious!
Margaritas:
- Salt, for rimming the glass (optional)
- Ice
- 1 1/2 ounces tequila (blanco, 100 percent agave)
- 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 ounce Cointreau (not Triple Sec)
The obvious choice for this holiday, but if you’re not in the mood to make your own, Chili’s has some delicious (frozen and on the rocks) ones for just $5!
Tequila Sunrise:
One of the easiest mixed drinks to make!
Passion Cocktail:
- 2 oz gold tequila
- 3 oz cranberry juice
- 1 oz lime juice
- 2 oz Grand Marnier
- 2 oz. Blanco tequila
- 6 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
- ½ oz. lime juice
(Salted rim optional)
Happy National Tequila Day! Did I miss any of your favorites? Let us know @20sTweet! And if you’re not a fan of tequila, keep an eye out for Brittni’s Beer Olympics post… coming soon!
