The 2012 Olympics are less than two weeks away. I, like most Americans, will be glued to the TV cheering on Team USA. It’s a time to celebrate our country’s finest athletes while seeing how we match up against the rest of the world.
It’s not shocking, of course, to see businesses everywhere forking out the extra dough to support our teams. Every four years, it’s an ad-junkie’s dream to watch who and how the big names will be recognized. Some are forking it out, and other’s are raking it in. In the fashion world, it’s an easy opportunity to release limited-time only pieces in honor of the event. Here are a few of my faves. What do you think?
Gap’s Olympic Tees: These vintage-style t-shirts for men and women sport logos from Games past.
M
iu Miu’s Gold, Silver, and Bronze: As a self-proclaimed provocative, yet sophisticated brand, Miu Miu released gold, silver, and bronze shoes and handbags in the Olympic spirit.
Yull’s Statford Shoes: These heels sport every color of the Olym
pic rings.
Alex and Ani’s USA Olympic Charm:
It’s no secret that we love Alex and Ani here on TwentyTweets. “Symbolizing loyalty, dedication, and the freedom to pursue greatness, the Official USA Olympic Charm recognizes America’s extraordinary patriotism.”
Ralph Lauren’s Team Spirit: As a proud outfitter of Team USA, Ralph Lauren released an entire 2012 Team USA Olympic Collection. This includes hats, tanks, belts, dresses, and of course, polos. Yes, some of you may not buy from Ralph Lauren ever again (because of Team USA’s attire being “Made in China”), but you must admit, the wardrobe is simply adorable.
So what do you think? Would you wear any of these? Regardless, get ready to root for your teams! TV listings by zipcode for the 2012 Olympic Games can be found here.
